Alison's Preliminary Picks

Ok.....so I have only done some preliminary research....but number one is: RENTING SCOOTERS AND DRIVING LIKE MANIACS!!!!

I don't remember where that came from but it was something that I came up with one night while we planned our trip.

Anyway....my picks so far....
The Vatican (Including St. Peters and The Sistine Chapel and the Underground Tour)
Does anyone think it is strange that two lesbians are heading to the one place in the world that we can be sure they don't accept us? Oh well it is still history!

The Colosseum
The Pantheon
Maybe the Roman Forum

Certainly I want to eat ALOT! And maybe try some italian wine!

Ok, now I'm jealous. I sooo want to go to Santorini! Jenny and I were just in Rome for our honeymoon. There are pictures at http://www.shallowadventures.com. When you do the Sistine Chapel, there is an exit in the Chapel itself that leads to St. Peter's Basilica. If you go that way, you won't have to wait in line for both the Chapel and Basilica.

I saw the Keats memorial on your "list" of stuff to do in Rome. It's at the bottom of the Spanish steps, so when you visit them you will see it. I would definitely recommend the Phaethon, the Coliseum, and the Sistine Chapel. The Trevi fountain, the Marcus Aurelius obelisk, and various plazas are also cool. The Piazza del Popolo is especially interesting, as it referenced in the novel “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown. It’s also at the end of a very long road of insane shopping that runs through the middle of Rome.

There are so many really neat things to see there it’s impossible to list them all. You will both have a blast, I am sure :)
